Southern Africa Nazarene University [SANU] Senate has approved modification of the Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Development to foundation phase programme. This will enable students pursuing this programme to acquire a broad range of skills and accommodate the developmental and educational needs of children from grade zero (0) to grade four (4).

Various scientific studies have proved that early development plays a key role in determining whether a child will reach his or her full potential. The events that occur during the early years of childhood have a lasting impact, and will affect a child’s growth and development throughout his or her life.

Therefore, it is very imperative that children are taught by highly trained teachers in these critical early years of life.
