The Department also offers a Basic Computer Skills Module taken by new students of all the programmes offered by our faculty.

The subject combinations which we offer at Diploma level enable graduates to specialize in Mathematics, Science, Consumer Science and Agriculture when they go for first degree programmes.

The Department of Sciences offers Mathematics and Science modules in both the Primary Teacher’s Diploma and the BEd. programmes. The subject combinations which we offer at Diploma level enable graduates to specialize in Mathematics, Science, Consumer Science and Agriculture when they go for first degree programmes.

The Department also offers a Basic Computer Skills Module taken by new students of all the programmes offered by our faculty. These include the Primary Teacher’s Diploma, Bachelor of Education in Special & Inclusive Education and the Bachelor of Education in Leadership & Management of Inclusive Education.

Currently the department comprises 14 Full Time lecturers and 3 Part Time lecturers who teach Mathematics, Biology and Physics modules at BEd level. All lecturers are experts in their respective fields and highly experienced. The lecturers are continuously developing instructional skills compliant with the current trends in education especially in remote/hybrid online teaching and learning. Emphasis is also placed on fostering the development of Self -Directed and Inquiry Based Learning Skills in students
