On February 15, 2025, the SANU Faculty of Theology, Department of Business Management and Entrepreneurship, proudly hosted its 7th Entrepreneurship Day. An annual event that demonstrates creativity and entrepreneurial skills, exhibiting the rising talents of Year 2 students. Over 100 high school students from the Lubombo region gathered under the theme “Cultivating Tomorrow’s Food Security Through Technology.”. The aim behind the organization of this event was to expose students to the latest advancements in agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship and provide an opportunity to connect with educators, entrepreneurs, and like-minded peers, fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The event featured keynote speeches and was attended by renowned guests such as SANU Vice Chancellor Dr. Faith Mlotsa-Mngomezulu, Director of Agriculture Mr. Mavuso, Research Station Mr. Nhlanhla Hlophe, Taiwan Mission Mr. Maroo, and Malkerns Research Mbali Tsabedze. The chief guest and the Vice Chancellor expressed their thoughts regarding the Entrepreneurship Day. The guest speaker delivered a speech about the era where technology is reshaping every aspect of our lives; agriculture stands at the forefront of this transformation. Students today have the remarkable opportunity to delve into the world of emerging agricultural technology trends, gaining valuable insights into innovative solutions addressing food security challenges. As the global population continues to grow, learning about technology-driven farming, agribusiness opportunities, and sustainability in agriculture has never been more crucial. Students were encouraged to embrace these emerging trends in the agricultural sector so that they could contribute to building a resilient and sustainable food system for future generations.
