On June 8, 2026, the Executive Management Team of Southern Africa Nazarene University (SANU), led by Vice Chancellor Faith Mlotsa-Mngomezulu, conducted an official tour of Farm Edene. The farm is located at SANU’s Siteki Campus—which currently hosts the Faculty of Theology and the Department of Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
The executive delegation was guided by Mr. Norman Mavuso, Chairperson of the Farm Edene Board, and Mr. Cebo Myeza, Farm Manager, both of whom provided a comprehensive overview of the facility’s ongoing developments, operational milestones, and strategic future plans.
Agricultural operations at Farm Edene have scaled significantly, accelerated by financial and strategic support from the Eswatini Partnership, coordinated by the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in the United States. This collaboration has enhanced the farm’s infrastructural capacity, establishing four primary commercial production streams:
1.Horticulture (High-Value Crop Production): A cornerstone of the farm’s modernization is its intensive horticulture program. Utilizing protective high tunnels, the farm specializes in the high-yield cultivation of high-value crops—specifically bell peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes.
2.Livestock Production: Current operations are successfully focused on small livestock management, specifically the rearing and breeding of goats and sheep.
3.Maize Production: The farm celebrated a highly successful agronomic cycle this season, yielding great maize harvest.
4.Beans Production: This stream serves as a key pillar in the farm’s crop rotation and diversification strategy.
Farm Edene occupies a vital role within SANU’s broader vision for transformative, holistic education. Beyond supporting Theology students and a commercial enterprise, the farm functions as a dynamic, hands-on learning laboratory that provides opportunities for students enrolled in existing programs and programs yet to be introduced. The visit reflects SANU’s continued commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities while advancing sustainability.
