SANU’s Second Year Business Management And Entrepreneurship Students Host An Entrepreneurship Day

The 5th edition – “Get Rich Or Die Trying”

On Saturday, 11th February 2023, Southern African Nazarene University (SANU)’s second year students studying Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship hosted their 5th successful Entrepreneurship day. This function was held at the Siteki Campus of the University.

This is an annual event aimed at bringing awareness on how an entrepreneurial mindset contributes to entrepreneurship. The main sponsors on the day were, First National Bank (FNB) and Royal Eswatini Sugar Company (RES).

This event targeted High School learners from around Siteki and nearby schools in the Lubombo region. As a result, schools in attendance were Ngomane High School, Siteki Nazarene High school, Good Shepherd High school, Lubombo Central High School and Purity High School learners as well as students studying BME. Other attendees included JA (Junior Achievement) representatives, local entrepreneurs, University students and SANU staff.

Attendees were challenged to think like entrepreneurs, to make their dreams a reality through taking calculated risks and using challenges to their advantage. They were encouraged to activate their innovative thinking skills to achieve goals and objectives that non-entrepreneurs may perceive to be impossible. The appropriate use of technology was also highlighted as a tool that can be used to their benefit.

FNB offered some valuable guidance on how to finance projects through giving practical advice on drawing up a business plan. They further encouraged attendees to partner with the bank in their entrepreneurship journey. JA invited schools to join the organization in order to benefit from their programmes. The audience was offered some prizes and tokens upon responding to some questions posed.

The day was deemed a major success and we look forward to the growth of this event in the future!
