French Embassy Attaché Visits Southern Africa Nazarene University to Enhance French Language Teaching Collaboration

On April 9, 2025, Southern Africa Nazarene University (SANU) had the honour of hosting Solène Leblanc-Maridor, Attaché for the French Language at the French Embassy, accompanied by Mr. Florent Brossollet of the Alliance Française and officials from the Ministry of Education and Training. The delegation was received by the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Faith Mlotsa-Mngomezulu, alongside members of the University’s Executive Management and academic staff from the Faculty of Education.

The purpose of the visit was to engage in discussions on strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing the teaching and learning of the French language at SANU. Key areas of engagement included curriculum enhancement, provision of pedagogical resources, and availability of student and staff opportunities such as scholarships and exchange programmes. Dr. Mlotsa-Mngomezulu expressed her gratitude for the French Embassy’s interest in strengthening French language education in Eswatini and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to preparing students for global engagement. “In today’s interconnected world, proficiency in additional languages such as French significantly broadens academic and professional horizons. We sincerely appreciate the French Embassy’s readiness to partner with us in this important initiative,” she stated.
