Southern Africa Nazarene University (SANU) has received a 111,280 Euros (approximately 2 185 203.13 Emalangeni) research grant from the European Union Erasmus+ for a three-year study aimed at enhancing graduates’ employability and entrepreneurship through integrating academic learning with on-the-job training. SANU is in a consortium with eight other higher education institutions from Southern Africa and Europe. Southern African partners include the University of Eswatini, Botho University, Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, and BA ISAGO University.
The European institutions comprise of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Poland), University of Lleida (Spain), International School for Social and Business Studies (Slovenia), and European Policy Development and Research Institute (Slovenia). The project activities have commenced with both virtual and in-person meetings. The inaugural face-to-face meeting for the Consortium Management and the Experts Working Group Workshop was held at Botho University in Botswana from March 18 to 21, 2025. The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Faith Mlotsa-Mngomezulu, Dr. Nokuthula Dlamini Masuku, and Dr. Ishmael Demba represented SANU at this meeting. It is envisaged that this research project will improve educational outcomes and strengthen the career prospects of the graduates.
